Rotary International, District 9110, Nigeria with two Rotary clubs in the district- Rotary Club of Abule Egba Metropolitan and Rotary Club of New Town Oko Oba, has donated computers to Agidingbi Grammar School in Ikeja area of Lagos state.

The School Principal, Mrs Fadeyibi O. A., Speaking during the donation ceremony held on Wednesday, March 20, 2019 said, “This occasion is important to us because we have been lacking a lot of ICT items. We are happy that the Rotary club, District 9110 has come to our aid and given us computers.
 
The president of Rotary Club of New Town Oko Oba, Seun Onakade and the president of Rotary Club of Abule Egba Metropolitan who was represented by the club’s Immediate Past President, Samuel Adenekan, both thanked the district for presenting them with the opportunity to touch the lives of the pupils of the school through partnership with the district.
 
The District Governor, Kola Sodipo in his remark, noted that “for us in Rotary, we compliment government’s effort, especially in areas that affect mankind.”
 
Speaking further, DG Sodipo said, “This year, we decided to intervene in the area of health and education. Apart from enhancing knowledge, we look at how we can help students learn in a conducive environment which aids learning process.
 
“About a month ago, when we had some visitors who are Rotarians from North Carolina in USA, they were here and they saw what we have been able to do here, I believe they will do more. For us, we are in Rotary to serve humanity and relieve the less privileged of their challenges as long as God continues to give us the enablement”, the District Governor added.
 
“This gesture of yours will move our students to greater heights because they can now learn how to use the computer on their own and the teachers will also be glad to teach them. I am happy that this is happening during my time. This school is my alma mata”, said Mrs Fadeyibi.
 
The representative of the Tutor General, Lagos State Education Board, District 6, Mrs Pelemo Evelyn, while delivering her speech, stated, “We approve many letters from many organizations but Rotary club is one of the organizations that top the list. Many come to us for approval and after the approval, we don’t get to see changes quickly but Rotary came and am here for the commissioning already. Thank you”, she said.
