Rotary Club of Lagos Central has just donated a 100 sets of classroom chairs and desks to Dolphin Senior High School and Elegbata High School, both in Lagos Island, Lagos state.

The Club President, Olusegun Adeyemo and some other members of the club, on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 led the District Governor, Bola Oyebade to Dolphin Senior High School, where 20 of the furniture sets were officially presented to the school by the District Governor on behalf of the club.

The club had previously donated 20 sets of classroom chairs and desks to the Dolphin Senior High school in 2018 and another 20 sets in 2019. The newly donated 20 sets makes it a total of 60 sets of classroom chairs and desks donated to the school by the club for three classrooms as each classrooms contains 20 sets of chairs and desks.

Three classrooms in Elegbata High School on the other hand, has gotten a total of 180 classroom chairs and desks- 60 sets for each class, donated to the school by the club. 60 sets of classroom chairs and desks were donated by the club to the school in 2018, another 60 sets in 2019 with another 60 sets newly donated to the school by the club.

This is the third time the club will be donating classroom chairs and desks to the two schools as the club in 2018, took it upon itself to equip three classrooms each in the two schools with classroom chairs and desks. The decision to donate a higher number  of the classroom furniture sets to Elegbata High School was taken by the club after carefully assessing the needs of each of the schools.

The students of the three classrooms in Elegbata High School were asked to bring their classroom chairs and desks to the school from home but the club came to their rescue.
