District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI has just flagged-off one of her key projects for this ”Imagine Rotary” year- Empowerment Programme for 250 Girls.
This laudable project which is in partnership with Rotaract District 9110 and Lagos State Agency for Mass Education and Rotary clubs is being funded by District 9110 to support Rotary clubs who have committed to sponsor ten girls each. Few other donors to the project are RC of Victoria Garden City, Rotarian (Hon.) Motunrayo Adeleye of RC Abeokuta and Rotn. Olufemi Awogbami of VGC Rotary Club.
Also present were the Director, Lagos state Agency for Mass Education- Mrs Oluwakemi Kalesanwo; The Head, Vocational Training, Lagos state Agency for Mass Education- Mrs Ayo Saliu; District 9110 Rotaract Representative- Afolabi Abdullahi (who used his office to source for many of the prospective trainees), the Chairman, Girls and Women Empowerment (GAWE) Committee- Past President Bisi Taiwo, as well as the beneficiaries who cut across Lagos and Ogun States.
