To mark 60 years of existence, Rotary Club of Lagos currently led by the Club President, Dare Adeyemi has constructed a new water borehole facility for traders and residence in Sandgrouse market in Lagos Island, Lagos.

The club which happens to be the first in the district commissioned the project during the visit of the District Governor, Bola Oyebade to the club on Wednesday, July 8.

The DG commended the club for such  a huge and impactful project, while encouraging other clubs to also execute huge projects that will be impactful. He noted that being the club, being the first he will be visiting as the District Governor has indeed left an impressive mark.

The Baba Oja of the market, Mr. Munirudeen Bakare spoke on behalf of the community, "We have been together with the club for over 20 years. They provided us with a toilet facility at the market, they provided us with water. This water tank facility is extended into the market through a running tap where everyone can wash their hands regularly", he said while thanking the club.

The District Governor however offered to extend his micro credit grant project to members of the facility who are interested. The grant is aimed at providing capital for small business owners.
