In line with the theme for the month, Rotary Club of Satellite Town has just empowered 5 women in the community.
The club which is currently led by Imaginative President Chidiebere Nwankwo revealed that this empowerment project forms part of the club’s activities carried out in fulfilment of one of Rotary 7 Areas of Focus- Economic and Community Development.
The women were presented with a sum of N250, 000 at N50,000 each as funding support for their small-scale business. This fund will help to boost and ensure continuity in their businesses which serve as sources of livelihood for their families.
All these were carried out during the official visit of District Governor Omotunde Lawson, FCAI to the club on Saturday, October 15, 2022.
The DG who presented the cheque to the beneficiaries on behalf of the club congratulated the club members for such laudable project while admonishing the beneficiaries to make sure the money serves its intended purpose.
Six new Rotarians including the Chairman of Golden Tree Hotel, the club’s meeting venue Chief Simon Eze who happened to be an Honorary Member of the club were also officially inducted by the District Governor as active members of the club.
