Rotary Club of Ota in District 9110, under the leadership of the Pacesetter President, Rotarian Gboyega Semiu Bakreen has reached out to Ijamido Children Home, Ota in Ogun State by donating some food items to them.

The District Governor, Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria, Rotarian Dr. Wale Ogunbadejo was led to the Home by Rotarian Gboyega and some other Club members and was given the honour to hand over the items to the home on behalf of the club, during his official visit to the club on Saturday, October 14, 2017.

The Governor, who was accompanied on the visit by the District Secretary, Rotarian Segun Adewakun and some other district leaders, commended the club for reaching out to the home.

DG Ogunbadejo sang with the children at the home and encouraged them not to feel inferior to anyone. “Nothing is lost. You can be whatever you want to be. Some children, even with their parents, don’t have what you have”, he said, while addressing the children.

The Governor went further to say that, “They don’t have the love they give you here; they don’t have the kind of food that you eat here; they don’t have the kind of environment you have here, yet they are with their parents. Don’t ever let it register in your head that there is anything wrong with you. You are good”.

The District Governor advised that, “what you should do is to maximise the opportunity you are given here to make your life better. Ensure that you use the opportunity here please, don’t waste the opportunity.”

The DG, while going through the club’s work book during the club’s board meeting, pointed out areas where the club is lagging behind and provided measures through which the club can be improved. He also shared fellowship with members of the club.
