Rotary Club of Opebi under the leadership of Imaginative President Tunde Salami has just given succor to the physically challenged with the donation of five new wheelchairs to five spinal cord injury survivors.

The wheelchairs were presented to the Spinal Cord Injury Association of Nigeria (SCIAN) by the District Governor, Omotunde Lawson ,FCAI alongside the club president on behalf of the club on Tuesday, December 13, 2022.

The Chairman of the Association, Mr Abdulwahab Mategbo appreciated the club for not just the donation but taking out time to ensure they donate the right type of wheelchair to them, as they end up not being able to use some wheelchairs donated to them due to lack of compatibility.

“To us, wheelchair is everything. Without wheelchair, we cannot go out; even to move around your house is not possible”, Mr Mategbo said while thanking the club for giving them the right set of wheelchairs that will be very useful to them.

The Assistant Governor to the club, AG Ezinne Obioha who was also present during the donation exercise instantly made an additional donation of one wheelchair to support the five donated by the club, making six wheelchairs donated to the association in total.

Two new female Rotarians were also inducted into the club by the Koseleri DG.
