Rotary Club of Lekki Phase One, one of the over one hundred clubs in Rotary International, District 9110 has donated four digital baby scales and a large deep freezer to seven primary healthcare centers in Eti-Osa Local Council Development Area, Lagos state.

This is just one of the many projects through which the club is touching lives every Rotary year in its community and beyond.
The items were presented to Dr. Elegushi who received them on behalf of the LCDA during the official visit of the District Governor, Omotunde Lawson, FCAI on Thursday, August 2.

The digital baby scales will enable the health workers weigh the babies easily while the freezer which is large enough to serve up to nine primary healthcare centers will help in preserving their polio immunization vaccines.

Speaking on the choice of project for this Rotary year, the club president, Rotarian Yetunde Dimowo revealed that the club was moved towards making the donation after learning that the nine hospital used to go all the way to Victoria Island to get their preserved packs of vaccines and as well have shortage of baby scales to weigh babies during immunization.

“This is part of what Rotary does in the area of maternal and child health and Rotary is quite particular about polio vaccines, reason why we keyed into the donation project, in order to support what we are passionate about.
