In a bid to provide a more conducive learning environment for students of Iponri Grammar School, Rotary Club of Lagos Mainland, under the umbrella of Rotary International, District 9110, has transformed the toilet facility in the school from its former dilapidated state to a more presentable state.

“Whoever gives water, gives life. The club has provided clean water which can be used or various purposes and also the convenience that can be used when nature calls”, the District Governor said.

The club, currently being led by the Inspiration president, Bakare Kazeem, refurbished two blocks of 15 toilets for staff and students of the school.

The District Governor, Kola Sodipo who officially commissioned the newly refurbished facility on Friday, March 29, 2019, commended the club for executing such a project that will help students and staff of the school to feel at home and comfortable whenever they are within the school premises.

“Whoever gives water, gives life. The club has provided clean water which can be used or various purposes and also the convenience that can be used when nature calls”, the District Governor said.

“Secondly, the steps and guides on proper hand washing that has been identified here is also educative. Also here, is something I always like to preach which is ‘being truthful, being fair, building goodwill and friendships, as well as doing things that will be beneficial to all’.

“It is one of the guiding principles of our organization- Rotary, which we try as much as possible to encourage both the young and the old, male and female, to imbibe. May Rotary friends and Rotary ways continue to allow us to serve humanity, no matter how small”, DG Sodipo added.

The club president however identified a female student of the school who recited the 4-Way test excellently, noting that she learnt it by frequently reciting it whenever she passes by the Rotary signage on which it is inscribed, on her way home from school.
