Rotary Club of Iponri has just donated pregnancy kits to pregnant women in Randle Mother and Child Hospital, Surulere.
This donation is in partnership with Rotary Club of Manhattan, New York in the United States of America.

The pregnancy kit which includes antiseptic soaps, sanitary pads, among other items were distributed to 74 pregnant women in the hospital.

The Imaginative District Governor, Rotarian Omotunde Lawson on her official visit to the club on Wednesday, October 12, presented the kits to the hospital alongside the Imaginative President of the club, Rotarian Toluse Dove Francis.

The Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Olumide Sojinrin while receiving the donation on behalf of the hospital appreciated the club stated that the club can never go wrong with helping pregnant women because as much as the babies are important, the mothers are equally very important.

The club had earlier in the day, distributed treated eyeglasses to students of State Grammar School, Iloto, Surulere following an eye screening sponsored by the club which had earlier been conducted on them.

Stating that we all know the government cannot do it all, the CMD added that he usually doesn’t ask for financial aid but rather asks for working tools to help the hospital staff work better and also donations like this for patients.

“You may not know how much value this donation which may seem little to you will add to ensure the safe delivery of the mother and child”, he said

The Vice Principal, Mr Toriola Kayode Oladapo also appreciated the members of the club on behalf of the beneficiaries.
