Rotary Club of Ikoyi has extended its charity arms to children in Hearts of Gold Hospice- a home for children with terminal and other life-threatening illness, in Surulere, Lagos state.
 
 
The District Governor was taken round the hospice to the children room which is divided into two; one for male and the other for female. DG Akeredolu was moved to tears upon seeing the children in various life-threatening conditions.
 
The club president and other members of the club, on Monday, July 29, 2019, received the District Governor, Dr. Jide Akeredolu and other members of his entourage at the hospice were some household items were donated by the club to the hospice to help provide a more conducive and beautiful environment for both the children and staff.
 
The items which includes beddings, air conditioners, and cottons among others were officially handed over to Mrs. Laja Adedoyin, the Founder and Proprietress of the hospice by the District Governor on behalf of the club.
 
 
Mrs. Adedoyin expressed her gratitude to the club and to other Rotary clubs in the district for its years of support to the hospice which happens to be the first of its kind in Nigeria, noting that Rotary club had in previous times, donated food and other items to the hospice.

He assured the management of the hospice for continuous support from the club while thanking them for doing a good job by taking proper care of the children, many of which their parents have lost hope in them and left them to their fate.
 
The club also unveiled its newly acquired bus named "Dream Bus" by the club, which according to the club, was purchased to ease logistics while rendering humanitarian services. The bus was commissioned by the DG who named it "Charity Bus".
