The contribution of trees to the preservation of our environment cannot be over emphasized as they provide the oxygen we breathe, improve air quality, ameliorate climate, conserve water, preserve soil, and support wildlife.

It is in this regard that Rotary International considered it a great importance to include "Supporting the Environment" as one of the 7 areas of focus. Although tree planting has been an age-long practice in Rotary, it continues to grow and has become a regular practice by Rotarians and Rotary clubs.

Rotary District 9110 is not left out of this intervention, as we strive to rescue our ecosystem from further degradation.
In this vein, members of Rotary Club of Gowon Estate, on Saturday, October 10, 2020 once again planted some trees at First Avenue Roundabout in Gowon Estate, Lagos state.

Also joining the exercise was District Governor Bola Oyebade and some other district leaders.
