It was a moment of joy for residents of Boxton Cole Street in Murtala area of Oworonsoki, Lagos state as Rotary Club of Gbagada, District 9110 commissioned their water facility which was renovated by the club.
 
 
The newly renovated water facility was officially commissioned by the District Governor, Jide Aakeredolu during his official visit to the club which is currently led by the president, Olusegun Dave on Thursday, July 11, 2019.
 
Speaking during the donation exercise, DG A keredolu said, “We know the government cannot do it all. They say the government provides a very big net for everybody but the holes in that net is getting bigger and a lot of people are falling inside, that is where Rotary comes in; to identify those holes and render our assistance. I implore you to try and take care of those things that we have provided for you.
 
Alhaji M. A Bello, the Isokan Community Development (CDA) Chairman who was present at the commissioning with some other members of the community, expressed his gratitude to the club for helping them address the issue of unavailability of water in that area.
 
The DG’s visit to the club started with a courtesy call the Oloworo of Oworonshoki Land, His Royal Highness Oba Bashiru Olohutoyin Saliu who was apologetically absent but the Rotarians were well received by the prince, Aremo Nurudeen O. Saliu.
 
A Rotary wheel which comes with the 4-way test signage was also commissioned by the District Governor on brhalf of the club at Olojojo Roundabout in Oworonsoki, Lagos.
 
 
The club, along with DG Akeredolu and members of his entourage then proceeded to Eva Adelaja Girls Secondary School in Bariga where the club donated 50 chairs and 50 desks to the senior session of the school.
 
Present at the donation ceremony is the Vice Principal Admin of the School, Mrs. Ogunyinka Soyoye, the Vice Principal Academics, Mrs. Oduyemi Adeyemi and some other members of staff of the school.

After the donation and commissioning exercises, the club members finally led the DG and members of his entourage to their meeting venue where the club further empowered two indigent members of the community with financial support and donated grinding machines to the other beneficiaries.
