In a bid to contribute towards security enhancement in Lagos state, Rotary Club of Ewutuntun has donated to four police stations in the state.

The club donated security jackets and torch lights to Makinde, Akinpelu, Shogunle, and Beesham police stations on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at the palace of Oba Shakirudeen Adeshina Kuti, the Elewu of Ewu Land who also witnessed the donation exercise.

“Rotary Club of Ewutuntun has been doing well but like Oliver Twist, I will demand for more. We still have a lot to be done. Our health centres and police stations still need some assistance and I think you can contribute towards making this land great”, said Oba Kuti
The club members had led the District Governor, Jide Akeredolu who was on an official visit to the club, to the palace to pay a courtesy call on the king.

The king while addressing everyone present at the palace said, “Rotary Club of Ewutuntun has been doing well but like Oliver Twist, I will demand for more. We still have a lot to be done. Our health centres and police stations still need some assistance and I think you can contribute towards making this land great.”

CSP Madu Mohammed while receiving the donated items from the club, thanked the club for the donation and promised, on behalf of the police stations, to make good use of the items and make sure they serve the purpose for which they were donated.

One of the leaders of the club, Samson Okenyi who gave the vote of thanks at the palace, commended the police stations in Oshodi and its environs, noting that the area used to be dreaded by people but now, the area is peaceful and residents can sleep with their eyes closed.

He attributed the newly found peace in the area to be the result of the efforts of the police, hence; the club is encouraged to keep supporting them through donations and through other means possible.

DG Akeredolu however decorated the king with the theme pin and also presented the theme bannerette to the king.
