Pupils of African Church Primary School in Meran area of Lagos state have joined the countless number of school children that have benefited from Rotary Club of Alagbado’s charity services since the inception of the club.

The club president, Samuel Aderibigbe, while presenting the project to DG Akeredolu, explained that the club members took it upon themselves to extend the exercise books donation project to the school following the demand for it from the school.

The DG, while commissioning the books, commended the club for the project which he describes as ‘impactful’. “This is a very good initiative by Rotary Club of Alagbado. It is always very good to always help the needy in whatever way you can. You can’t say there is nothing to do, there is always something to do to benefit the less privileged”, the DG said.

Speaking further, DG Akeredolu said, “This project will go a long way in helping the pupils, especially in this unequal environment, to compete with their peers. Thank you for remembering the less privileged. It’s a little project but it will make its own impact.”

The club supported the Dgistrict Governor’s cervical cancer prevention project with the sum of N22, 000 for the vaccination of one girl.

The cervical cancer prevention project is an initiative of the District Governor, targeted at vaccinating 10, 000 against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which causes cervical cancer. One dose of the vaccine costs N11, 000 and each girl requires two doses.

One new Rotarian was also inducted into the club by the District Governor.
