Rotary Club of Akowonjo has reached out to children Little Saints Orphanage in Shasha, Lagos state.
 
The club, on Monday, August 17 led the District Governor, Bola Oyebade who was on his official visit to the club, to the home. DG Oyebade who was accompanied on the visit by the District Secretary, Mufutau Adelotan and some other district leaders officially handed the items to the Home administrator on behalf of the club.
 
Items donated by the club to the home include food items and toiletries.
 
The club also took part in Rotary's global ecosysytem preservation campaign by planting some trees in Alimosho Local Government office premises. The trees were named after the Rotary District Governor, Bola Oyebade and the Secretary to the Local Government Dare Ogunkoya who both participated in the tree planting exercise.
 
 
Over 10 men and women residing in Alimosho Local Government Area of Lagos State also benefited from the latest edition of Rotary Club of Akowonjo's annual Adult Literacy Programme.
 
The club revealed that the students upon completion of their programme, will also be awarded some form of scholarship to further their studies courtesy of "Christiana Imami Odiboh Award for Academic Excellence" initiated by the club's Vocational Service Chairman, John Odiboh who disclosed that the award which is being sponsored by his family was named after his late mum who made sure she saw him through school without the help of his father who didn't believe in education.
