Rotary Club of Akoka District 9110 led by Imaginative President Dr. Patrick Orumbie has just established a library for Oluwole Nursery and Primary School, Akoka in collaboration with Rotaract Club of Medilag Golden led by Imaginative President Esther Kolade.
 
The club also fully equipped the library with books, furniture, and chairs. The library was unveiled by the Imaginative District Governor, Omotunde Lawson, FCAI on Wednesday, October 5, 2022 which coincidentally happens to be “Teachers Day”.
 
 
 
The DG expressed her delight with such project which falls under one of Rotary’s seven “Areas of Focus”- Basic Education and Literary.
As a teacher and educator, DG Lawson stated the impact the library will make in the pupils' academic development.
 
She commended the teachers in the school led by the Head Teacher, Mrs Akinrolabu Janet, while calling on young students to join the teaching force as “the reward of teachers is no longer in heaven” like the popular saying goes.
 
 
 
 
The Head Teacher in her appreciation remark, the buttressed the DG’s commendation of the teachers stating that the school usually top state and local debate and quiz competition. She added that the availability of the newly established library by Rotary Club of Akoka will further boost the pupils’ academic performance.
 
The club also donated exercise books to Akoka Primary School which is located in the same premises as Oluwole Nursery and Primary School.
After the donation exercise, the Rotarians proceeded to the club’s meeting venue where the DG was received in grand style for her official visit to the club.
 
The club president who happens to be the Commissioner, St John Ambulance, Nigeria and his team welcomed the DG to the club with a breath-taking reception during which they displayed their parade skills.
