Rotary Club of Gbagada South led by the Inspiration President Billiaminu Sanni has provided potable water facility alongside desks and chairs for Oworonsoki Group of Schools and Mainland Primary School, respectively.

Last Rotary, year Rotary Club of Gbagada South provided a toilet facility for Oworonsoki Group of Schools in Lagos State and promised to return with a water facility for the school which will complement the toilet facility. True to its words, the club has just commissioned a water facility with five wash-hand basins for the school.
During the commissioning of the water facility, the Club also carried out a sanitization exercise during which the pupils and staff of the schools were practically trained by medical officials on how to properly wash their hands after using the toilet to avoid contracting toilet germs and diseases.

In addition the Club rendered financial support to the school management to help them purchase toiletries such as hand sanitizers, hand towels, among others that will be used for both the toilet and water facilities.
District Governor Kola Sodipo who commissioned the project during his visit to the Club, commended the members saying that “water is important because water is life.

Sanitation is also important because it keeps us clean from germs. So it is in that regard that I commend Rotary Club of Gbagada South for making these facilities available for these schools and I have no doubt that these facilities will be sustained.”
The District Governor said further that, “I want to use this medium to appeal to the pupils and staff of these schools to share with others, this knowledge that you have acquired here today.”

Mr Ade Abatan, the Director, School Support and Services with the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), who represented Mr. Abdulganiu Oluremi Sopeyin, the SUBEB Chairman, admonished the staff and pupils of the schools to take advantage of this opportunity to keep their hands clean all the time.
He also thanked the Club for “supporting and partnering with the government because the government cannot do it all alone.”

The club also donated desks and chairs to Mainland Primary School in Fadeyi, Lagos state. DG Sodipo who officially handed over the furniture to the school on behalf of the club, urged the school management to ensure that the pupils make proper use of the desks and chairs.
At the club meeting, the club went further in its humanitarianism by donating a chest freezer to Mrs Fatimah Olabode and awarding of a micro loan to beneficiaries that include Mrs Olabode.
