District Governor Omotunde Lawson on Thursday, May 4, 2023, visited the Indo Eye Care Foundation along Airport Road, Lagos state to see the medical doctors and beneficiaries of the free eye surgeries and treatments.
 
The free eye surgeries and treatments is part of the free medical and surgical mission held by the Rotary district in collaboration with the Association of Nigerian Physicians in the Americas (ANPA) between Monday, April 24 and Friday, April 28 at Ace Medicare Clinics, a facility released for use by the MD/CEO, District Governor Nominee, Dr. Wole Kukoyi.
 
 
50 Rotarian and non-Rotarian doctors participated in the week-long mission which catered for 3000 to 5000 beneficiaries.
Partnering with the district on full sponsorship of the free eye surgeries and treatments is the Indo Eye Care Foundation championed by members of the Rotary Club of Lagos Palm Grove Estate, Rotary Club of Lagos Island as well as some other Rotary clubs in the district.
 
 
The Acting President of Rotary Club of Lagos Palm Grove Estate, Past President Jayashankar Nalode while updating the District Governor on the mission so far, revealed that a total of 215 surgeries have been carried out as at that day. Also present was the President of one of the partnering clubs, Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa Central, Bukola Soile-Balogun, the Chairman of the Save Our Sight Committee, as well as the Special Assistant to the District Governor, Assistant Governor Valentine Shomoye.
