Four Indigent Nigerian women have been empowered by Rotary Club of Agege. The club members, in their usual manner selected the women who could barely feed or cater for their families as they have no tangible means of livelihood.

The women got a brand new grinding machine each from the club as a business tool. The grinding machines were presented to the women during the official visit of the District Governor, Bola Oyebade to the club on Tuesday, September 8, 2020.

The club president, Lukman Akande, while presenting the grinding machines to the beneficiaries, stated that the club undertook the project with the aim of assisting the women with the business tools with which they can earn an income and be able to provide for themselves and families, rather than begging on the streets of Lagos.

The District Governor's visit to the club started with a live programme on Lagos Traffic Radio, alongside the Club President, Lukman Akande where DG Oyebade spoke on Rotary, as well as the various aspect of the Rotary district's activities which includes the free prostate cancer screening, which is a major project for the 2020-21 Rotary year.
