The District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Nigeria, Bola Oyebade, today, 24th of June, 2021 commissioned the newly concluded Prostate Cancer Centre building in Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) in Sagamu, Ogun State.
 
 
The building project which commenced in November 2020 is a major project of DG Oyebade for this Rotary year, born out of his passion to support the fight against prostate cancer, the live wrecking disease that has taken the lives of many men in Nigeria, rendering their wives widows and their children fatherless.
 
The over N80million building which will also be fully equipped in due course will cater for both the screening and treatment of prostate cancer.
      
 
The Deputy Governor commended the Rotary district for fulfilling their promise. In her words, "I was here in November last year for the ground breaking ceremony of this building and the DG assured us that we will be back in 8 months time to commission it. I am happy to be here today to commission this building in less than 8 months.”
Commissioning the building alongside the DG was the Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr Noimot Salako-Oyedele who represented the Executive Governor of Ogun state, Prince Dayo Abiodun (MFR).
 
Speaking during the event, DG Oyebade expressed his delight at the completion of the building project which is his key project, while thanking all that worked together with him to make the project a success.

The Ogun State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Tomi Coker; the Acting Chief Medical Director of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital; Rotarian Tayo Lawal, who is also a Special Adviser to Ogun State Governor, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi Torungbuwa II, the Akarigbo of Remo Land; staff of the hospitals; as well as some other government officials were present to witness the event.
 
 
Also present at the commissioning was the Prostate Cancer Centre Committee Chairman, Assistant Governor Tunde Alimi; the Prostate Cancer Building Fundraising Committee Chairman, Rotarian Tunde Olaleye; the Prostate Cancer Screening Committee Chairman, Assistant Governor Sola Benson.
 
Our district leaders were fully represented as we had the Rotary 9110 District Governor Elect, Rotarian Remi Bello, Past District Governors, District Secretary Mufutau Adelotan, Opportunities Presidents, as well as many other district leaders and Rotarians who were present in-person and virtually.
