Rotary International, District 9110, Nigeria in a partnership project with Rotary Club of Elega, one of the clubs under the umbrella of the district, has donated medical equipment to Imala Primary Health Centre in Abeokuta area of Ogun state.

The equipment were officially handed over to the centre by the District Governor, Kola Sodipo, alongside the club president, Agborga Charity and other Rotarians on Thursday, May 23, 2019.

Narrating how the club came about the project, the club president explained that when the club came to the centre with the District Governor to commission a project in December 2018, the person in charge of the laboratory made some request from the club and the District Governor promised that before the end of his tenure, something will be done. “Here we are now”, she said.

DG Sodipo, while delivering his address, corroborated the president’s statement, “I remember when we came here some time in November or December last year, we saw the pregnant women here and the centre made some requests that they want to be conducting some tests here but they lack the necessary equipment.

“The president kept reminding me about it and today, we have been able to make this happen”, the DG said, adding that “whenever we see a need and God provides us with the enablement, we should not hesitate to do our bit, which is what we have done here.”

The Medical Director, Dr. Afanja O. O. stated his excitement, “I am very delighted to day. I thank Rotary club for the numerous works they have been doing for this centre some of which I heard of when I arrived here. I am happy to be the Doctor in charge of this project at a time like this when this project is being executed.”
