Gbara Health Centre in Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos state has received a generous donation of medical equipment from Rotary International, District 9110 and one of the clubs in the district- Rotary Club of Lekki Phase One.
 
The health centre, on Monday, March 18, 2019, joined other primary health centres in the state such as Amuwo Odofin Maternal Child Centre, Badore Primary Health Centre and Oworonsoki Primary Health Centre to benefit from the ongoing upgrading of primary health centres in Lagos and Ogun states by the district.
 
DG Sodipo has kept to his words as so far, some primary health centres and schools have already benefited from this project and more are still to come this month and in the coming month.
The District Governor, Kola Sodipo who officially handed over the equipment to the centre, during his installation ceremony, stated that money raised at the ceremony will be dedicated towards upgrading primary health centres and schools in Lagos and Ogun states this Rotary year which runs from July 1 – June 30, 2019.
 
The district covers all Rotary clubs in Lagos and Ogun state and to enable fair distribution, some primary health centres and schools have been selected to benefit from the project after a needs assessment has been carried out in the various primary health centres and schools by the club.
 
DG Sodipo has kept to his words as so far, some primary health centres and schools have already benefited from this project and more are still to come this month and in the coming month. Members of Rotary Club of Lekki Phase One, led by the club president, Dimeji Ajayi, some other district leaders and Rotarians were on ground to witness the donation ceremony.
 
Also present were the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics with Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Balogun Temitope who represented the Permanent Secretary, and also the health centre’s Apex Nurse, Adesiyan Stella.
