The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. (Mrs.) Noimot Salako-Oyedele, on Thursday, October 20, 2022, warmly welcomed the District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Mrs. Omotunde Olayinka Lawson, FCAI, to her Oke Mosan office in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
Rotarian Lawson, the first woman in 42 years to become a DG, was accompanied on the visit, which was specially to invite the Deputy Governor and His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun to DISCON 2022, by some Rotary leaders like the District Governor Nominee, Rtn. Wole Kukoyi; IMP of Rotary Club of Ota, Rtn Musibau Alade; District Secretary, Rtn. Azuh Arinze; Special Assistant to DG, Rtn. Valentine Shomoye; Personal Assistant to DG, Rtn. Ronke Jones-Adewale, and the Chairman, District Conference 2022, Rtn. Bukola Bakare.
Discon 2022 will hold at Green Legacy, in Abeokuta, Ogun State from May 4-7, 2022. The District Conference is one of the programmes held towards the end of every Rotary year. Over 2500 Rotarians converge for it where the outgoing DG usually gives an account of his or her stewardship.
Mrs. Lawson and Mrs. Salako-Oyedele equally looked at ways of working together, especially in the areas of service to humanity.
Rotary International, District 9110 just completed work on a multimillion cancer centre in the state, which the DG assured the Deputy Governor will also be fully equipped.
Finally, the DG decorated the Deputy Governor with the 2022-2023 Imagine Rotary pin. She also handed her a Rotary D9110 banneret which she implored her to display conspicuously in her office.
