The District Governor, Rotary International, District 9110, Dr. Jide Akeredolu has inducted Dr. Funmi Ogunmola of Glass House Hotel, Abule-Egba into Rotary Club of Ajuwon.

Dr. Ogunmola was inducted as an honorary member of the club during the official visit of the District Governor to the club on Saturday, January 11, 2020.

The DG’s visit to the club started with the board meeting at Glass House Hotel which currently serves as the club’s meeting venue, after which the club members led the DG and members of his entourage to Jordan 105.5fm, Lagos where the District Governor and the club president, Henry Akinbobola went live on air.

The group thereafter, returned to the club’s meeting venue for the club fellowship during which Dr. Ogunmola was inducted.

Dr. Ogunmola, while giving his appreciation remark said, “While the District Governor was speaking, one of his points caught my interest and that is the area of health. For me, if you can’t impact in others, then what is the essence of life? As a result of that, I have decided to key into the District Governor’s cervical cancer prevention project.”

Dr. Ogunmola however revealed that members of the club have been inviting him to join them for a long time now but he has been refusing but as at that morning, he changed his mind, “I decided to come and I am happy that I am here. On behalf of my family and the entire staff of Glass House Hotel, I assure you that we will support you in our own little way”, he said.

The cervical cancer prevention project is an initiative of the District Governor, targeted at vaccinating 10, 000 against the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) which causes cervical cancer. One dose of the vaccine costs N11, 000 and each girl requires two doses.

Dr. Ogunmola was also awarded by the club in recognition of his support for the club over the years
DG Akeredolu also joined the club members in celebrating the club’s 26th anniversary with the cutting of cake.
