Rotary Clubs worldwide are touching the lives of people in their community, from rural areas to urban areas, and Rotary Club of Oregun in Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria is not left out as it has donated some hospital items to Oregun Primary Health Centre.
 
The District Governor, Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria, Rotarian Dr. Wale Ogunbadejo was given the honour to hand over the items the health centre during his official visit to the club on Thursday, September 21, 2017.
 
He commended the club members for their consistency in donating to the health centre and encouraged them not to relent in their efforts as this is what Rotary stands for.
 
Speaking at the health centre, the President, Rotary Club of Oregun, Rotarian Opeoluwa Odulere revealed that the club has adopted Oregun Health Centre as its signature project centre. “Before now, we have given the health centre air conditions, fans among other hospital equipments. We come here to ask for their needs and we try as much as possible to provide them”, Rotarian Odulere said.
 
Mrs. Adetileto, who represented the matron in charge of the health centre, disclosed that the health centre provides comprehensive healthcare including child healthcare, maternal healthcare, dental care, OPD, as well as optical care, adding that a woman has just been delivered of a bouncing baby boy weighing 3.5kg at the facility.
 
The items donated to the health centre include cotton wools, methylated spirits, drip bags, cartons of noodles, detergents, among other items.
 
After the donation of the items at the health centre, the club president, with some of the club board members and other members of the club, led the District Governor who was accompanied by the District Secretary, Rotarian Segun Adewakun and several other District leaders to Airport Hotel in Ikeja where the club holds its board meetings and fellowships.
 
During the board meeting, the board members disclosed that in the coming weeks, the club plans to erect windows and doors at Olusosun Health Centre in Oregun and also donate library books to Oregun Senior High School.
 
Rotarian Mufutau Adelotan, one of the past presidents of the club, also disclosed that the club is making efforts to enhance its public image by bringing in at least, one media personnel into the club as active members.
 
The DG, while going through the club’s history, described it as “very rich” and “one which other clubs should envy in terms of those who started the club”.
 
He encouraged Rotary Club of Oregun to increase its membership recruitment and retention efforts, while stating that some of the club’s founding father and early members are still alive but are no longer members of the club.
 
“You have to contact those old members that are gone. You can make them Honorary members or invite their children”, the DG advised.
 
Quoting Paul Harris, Founder of Rotary, the District Governor said that, “What brings us together is fellowship and what binds us together is tolerance. Let’s always settle our differences amicably and fellowship in love. Don’t allow any human being, no matter what happens, to deter you from doing what you ought to do”, the Governor said, while advising club members to avoid anything that will cause them to lose their members.

Don’t allow any human being, no matter what happens, to deter you from doing what you ought to do”, the Governor said, while advising club members to avoid anything that will cause them to lose their members.
 
“We must strengthen our clubs in terms of membership and in terms of knowledge. The essence of my coming is to make this club greater than it is now. I am happy you have agreed to move the club to greater heights and I promise to be with you all the way”, DG Ogunbadejo said at the event.
 
The Governor also shared fellows with members of the club, during which he inducted one new member into the Rotary Club of Oregun and Rotary family worldwide.
