Rotarian Dr. Wale Ogunbadejo, District Governor of Rotary International District 9110, Nigeria has commissioned the 4-Way Test of Rotary at the Rotary Club of Ikorodu Golden, during his visit to the club on Saturday, September 30, 2017.

The Governor, who was accompanied on the visit by the District Secretary, Rotarian Segun Adewakun and several other district leaders, was received by the president of the Rotary Club of Ikorodu Golden, Rotarian Bunmi Adegoke, past president, board members and some other members of the club at the club’s meeting venue.

The 4-Way test of the things we think, say or do” was adopted by Rotary as an ethical guide to be used by Rotarians all over the world in their personal and professional relationships.

The 4-Way test can be applied profitably in relations with others in the home, community, business, national and international life; particularly to proposed plans, policies, statements and advising in business and the professionals; to proposed legislation in government, to relations between teachers and students in the school.

The 4-Way test of the things we think, say or do includes the following:

-Is it the Truth?
-Is it Fair to all concerned?
-Will it build Goodwill and Better Friendships?
-Will it be Beneficial to all concerned?

"The 4-Way test can be applied profitably in relations with others in the home, community, business, national and international life; particularly to proposed plans, policies, statements and advising in business and the professionals; to proposed legislation in government, to relations between teachers and students in the school."

DG Ogunbadejo, while commissioning the 4-Way Test at the club meeting venue, admonished the club leaders and members, not just to display the 4-Way Test on the walls of their meeting venue, homes and offices, but to live according to the test, manifesting it in all they do.

He urged the board members to cultivate the habit of reading, especially Rotary-related materials so as to gain more knowledge on Rotary.

According to DG Ogunbadejo, reading helps to acquire knowledge, which in turn, develops human capacity. Reading Rotary-related materials and attending Rotary trainings will equip club leaders with the knowledge to effectively run the activities of the club, foster club membership and general growth and also enable them to groom their new members and pass the knowledge across to them.

The Governor however, commended the club president’s willingness to learn and encouraged the leaders and members of the club which is just in its second year of existence, to co-operate with the president and with one another in order to move the club to greater heights.

A new member was inducted by the Governor into the Rotary Club of Ikorodu Golden family.
